Parents’ Association AGM

Thursday 8th October at 8.00pm, PE Hall

The Parents’ Association Committee is delighted to announce that our speaker for this year will be Jennifer Ryan from

Jennifer is the founder of MyLife Solutions, an award-winning life skills and assertiveness programme, and the talk will focus on empowering children to stand up to bullying.
Jennifer holds a BSc in psychology, a MSc in applied forensic psychology from the university of Leicester and post graduate diploma in guidance and counselling from DCU. She recently completed her training in conflict resolution and mediation.
Jennifer has many years experience in schools & universities and she has built a team of specialists at MyLife who are committed to the education of bullying and to restoring relationships and rebuilding individuals.
Jennifer believes bullying occurs when a lack of empathy meets with a lack of assertiveness and she is committed to providing help to young people, their families and schools on both these key life skills.

All welcome – we look forward to seeing you there.

Presentation Primary Parents’ Association Committee

At Presentation Primary, there is a lively and active Parents’ Association.
Established in 1985 as a co-operation of all the parents in the school for the good of the children, the primary goal is to provide a representative forum for parents of pupils to discuss matters of mutual concern and to initiate activities relating to the education, welfare and development of our children.

While all parents are automatically a member of the Association once they have a child at the school, the Association is led by a Committee that meets once a month and engages in several social and fund-raising events during the year.

Firstly, we on the current Committee would like to take this opportunity to welcome all the new Junior Infants parents and students to the school.

We would also like to invite the new Junior Infants parents to a Coffee Morning, on Friday 11th of Sept., from 8.45 to 10.00am. Pop in for 5 minutes or half an hour and get to know some of the other new parents in your daughter’s year.

Throughout the year, we also run some other events – another coffee morning at Christmas, the hugely popular school Bingo night in March and we also provide the ice cream after the school sports day in June.
We also run after school activities – keep an eye on your daughter’s schoolbag or your email for further details.

All surplus profits raised are returned to the school annually, and used to fund various projects.

The Committee meet once a month and is an entirely voluntary organistation. New members are always welcome and will be voted in at the AGM at the end Sept / beginning of Oct. All parents are welcome to attend the AGM – in fact; we’d love to see you there.
