Well done to our First Holy Communicants who donated €1000 to Crumlin Hospital in memory of our past pupil Ruth Gallen who sadly died in 1992. The girls wrote a lovely letter to the hospital explaining why they were making this very generous donation. Click below to read this letter
The girls received a medal from the hospital thanking them for their kindness and generosity
The two second classes made their First Holy Communion on Saturday May 9th. Father Philip officiated at the ceremony during which the children read and sang beautifully. After the Mass the Parents Association hosted the annual white party which the children and their families thoroughly enjoyed. Congratulations to all the girls and their families. Well done also to Ms. Coughlan and Ms. Collins who worked so hard to prepare the girls for their big day. A huge thank you to Ms. Keating and her choir who sang exquisitely.
We have had a busy and exciting few days here in Room 3. Click below to see Sunny finding his feet.
For the past 21 days Ms. Brannocks class have been incubating chicken eggs. The class has been observing the growth of the chicks through an x-ray chart.
The class were delighted to discover when we came into school today that two chicks had hatched. The chicks were named Scramble Joe and Quenn. Hopefully tomorrow we will have another surprise waiting for us.
The countdown to Christmas has officially begun so what better excuse to hold a Christmas coffee morning.
Please join the Parents Association on the morning of 12th December for a coffee and a selection of traditional mince pies and festive treats from 8.30 in the large sports hall.
Grab a coffee on your way to work or take the time to catch up with other parents from your child’s class.
We look forward to seeing you and sharing the festive spirit.
Last Wednesday we had a very special surprise visitor to school. Brian O’Driscoll dropped by to say hello with the RBS 6 Nations trophy. We were very honoured in 1st class to be in on the secret and to put on an assembly for Brian filled with facts, questions and singing. He was very impressed with the wonderful reception he received and everyone had a chance to meet the legend himself. Brian you’re welcome back anytime!!
For 6 weeks Naoise’s mum Emma came in twice a week to teach us the Cha Cha dance. At first we found it difficult to remember the steps but in the end we were able to do the cha cha basic step, the barn dance, the New Yorker step, and a basic waltz. Last Thursday we had our Strictly Come Dancing final in the hall. Some of us were lucky and talented enough to win trophies and some won medals. Ms. Beatty and Ms. Tully picked out the winners! We had a super 6 weeks and would like to thank Emma so much for giving up her time.

The girls in 2nd class made beautiful flowers to remember our loved ones who are no longer with us. We remember them in a special way during the month of November
The 3 second classes recently enjoyed a walk to Lakelands to look for signs of Autumn. The girls spotted chestnuts, beech nuts and acorns . They were surprised to observe how green the trees still were. They saw a squirrel scampering among the trees and also saw swans and ducks on the lake.
