Christmas Coffee Morning

The countdown to Christmas has officially begun so what better excuse to hold a Christmas coffee morning.

Please join the Parents Association on the morning of 12th December for a coffee and a selection of traditional mince pies and festive treats from 8.30 in the large sports hall.

Grab a coffee on your way to work or take the time to catch up with other parents from your child’s class.

We look forward to seeing you and sharing the festive spirit.

Hallowe’en in Junior Infants

We have had a very busy first term in Junior Infants.  The girls have been planting bulbs, onions and cabbages. We went on a lovely nature walk to Eaton Square, where we collected leaves for our nature tables. We hand-painted bonfires and we have been busy creating leaf prints.

Brian O’Driscoll’s visit to school

Last Wednesday we had a very special surprise visitor to school. Brian O’Driscoll dropped by to say hello with the RBS 6 Nations trophy. We were very honoured in 1st class to be in on the secret and to put on an assembly for Brian filled with facts, questions and singing. He was very impressed with the wonderful reception he received and everyone had a chance to meet the legend himself. Brian you’re welcome back anytime!!

Junior Infants Gardening

We have been very busy gardening here in Junior Infants. We planted potatoes, onions, cabbages and flowers. We looked after our plants well by weeding regularly. Some snails really liked our plants ! We dug up some of our cabbages recently and Ms. Heffernan’s class visited 3rd class to proudly display lovely healthy heads of green cabbage.

A Visit to the Shoe Shop

Junior Infants paid a visit to the local shoe shop in Terenure. Here are a few samples of their writing about their trip.

Orienteering in Junior Infants

The Junior Infants are practising their early orienteering skills. They have to find objects, work in pairs and record their findings. Co-operation is also a key skill in early orienteering. Here are some photos of Ms. Heffernans class using their orienteering skills
