4th Class Easter Crafts

All of the girls in 4th Class have been busy knitting lovely Easter chicks and painting and decorating egg-cups for the chicks to sit on. We think they are really cute.
We also got to hold some of the newborn chicks from 2nd Class on Tuesday which was a lovely experience, thanks Ms Brannock

Easter Knitting

The Knitting and Crochet Club have been busy knitting some Easter chicks and ducks. We put them in some hampers for the Parents Association Bingo Night. Best of luck to everybody going along tonight. It should be a fun-filled night ! Happy Easter from the Knitting and Crochet Club

Presentation Soccer Team

On the 24th of March Presentation Soccer Team took part in the Dublin 5-a-side blitz in Irishtown Stadium. There were 5 groups of 5 teams from schools all over Dublin playing, and 1 team from each group plus the 3 best losers got through to the quarter-finals. We did really well and won 3 out of our 4 matches and drew the other, which meant we got to the next round. We had a draw in our quarter-final so it went to a penalty shootout – which we won!!! We played brilliantly and won our semi-final 2-0. The grand final was against St. Oliver Plunkett’s Malahide. It was a very tough game and we played really well, but unfortunately we were beaten 2-1. As we had done so well we really didn’t mind and we got lovely silver runner-up medals. All the girls played very well and there were some great goals. The girls who played were Katie, Ella, Kate and Amelia from 6th, Ellie, Jessica and Alison from 5th and Ava from 4th. A big thank you to Ms. Murphy for organising the team, JJ and John from Terenure F.C. for training us, and Ms. Hume for entering the first ever Pres Soccer Team into the Spar 5-a-side competition.
Girls if you are interested in playing soccer Terenure FC is always on the look out for new players!

Chicks a Hatching !

For the past 21 days Ms. Brannocks class have been incubating chicken eggs. The class has been observing the growth of the chicks through an x-ray chart.

The class were delighted to discover when we came into school today that two chicks had hatched. The chicks were named Scramble Joe and Quenn. Hopefully tomorrow we will have another surprise waiting for us.

Museum Trip

Ms. Carney’s 3rd class visited the National Museum in Kildare Street to do a workshop called “Exploring a Viking Chest “. We saw lots of Viking artefacts including weapons, jewellery helmets etc. We saw some replicas of Viking clothing and some of us tried on the clothes and the helmet
