Trip To Terenure

The Senior Infants went on a trip to Terenure.

We visited the crib in the church.

We posted our Christmas cards.

We sang Jingle Bells at the Christmas tree.

Happy Christmas from all of the Senior Infants!

Can you guess who these helpful elves are???

Christmas Activities

During Aistear we have been wrapping christmas presents with our beautiful printed paper. We added gift tags and bows. We have the presents under our tree.

Niamh made a Santa trap!

Sophie, Ganika and Emma Jane made christmas trees from the big blocks and they added lovely decorations.

You will never guess who went to visit baby Jesus… The GRUFFALO!

I hope the baby wasn’t too afraid of him with his terrible tusks!!!

Senior Infants Christmas 2014

We have been very busy in Senior Infants preparing for Christmas.

We made a stable for Mary, Joseph and Jesus.

We wrapped presents and left them under the tree.

We designed some really cool winter hats to keep us warm.

We also painted Santa Claus and wrote some interesting speech bubbles!

Bake Sale

On Friday 12th sixth class invited the whole school to a bake sale in aid of Childline which is in need of urgent funding to support its evening service. To date, we have raised  €1700! Thank you to all the pupils and teachers who supported us and a big thanks to the mums and dads for joining in with the baking. Well done girls, you should be very proud of yourselves.

Successful coffee morning

Thank you to all the parents who stopped by the Parents Association Christmas coffee morning and to those who baked lovely cakes and mince pies.  The voluntary contributions were very much appreciated and we are delighted to say we raised €250 for St Vincent De Paul

Science Week

We had a very successful Science Week here in Presentation Primary. The theme this year  was The Power of Science.

The girls took part in an art competition to build a 3D model representing the “Power of Science” and we were so impressed with the wonderful entries that were produced. The judges had a very difficult task. Ms Hume presented the winners with their prizes. Well done girls!

We had a visit from Christine, Angela and Teresa from  “Anyone for Science” and they worked with all of the classes on the theme of crystals.

On Wednesday we had “The Big Science Quiz” for all classes from 1st to 6th. This was a table quiz with a  winning team in every class. It gave all of our budding scientists a chance to show off their knowledge . Well done to all of the winning teams.

During the week all of the classes had the opportunity to visit other classes, and work with younger or older children on a range of fascinating experiments. Judging from the photos and the buzz around the school everyone in Presentation Primary enjoyed Science Week 2014!

Ms. Carney’s 3rd  Class have been learning all about Space. We loved learning about the planets, asteroids, comets and space exploration. We wrote some facts about space and we wrote them as bullet points in the computer room.

We also designed some colourful and interesting aliens

Christmas Coffee Morning

The countdown to Christmas has officially begun so what better excuse to hold a Christmas coffee morning.

Please join the Parents Association on the morning of 12th December for a coffee and a selection of traditional mince pies and festive treats from 8.30 in the large sports hall.

Grab a coffee on your way to work or take the time to catch up with other parents from your child’s class.

We look forward to seeing you and sharing the festive spirit.
