Last week we had great fun making freaky Frankenstein heads in 3rd Class.
We used clay to make monster pinch pots. Watch out. . .they bite!

4th Class have been busy!

The girls in the three 4th classes have been learning all about The Aborigines. They have painted some beautiful “Dot Art” pictures. They have also been very busy reading some interesting stories- among them was one about a mermaid called Emerald, another about a Stone Age  boy called Stig  and a very funny story about a 4 year old who could fly!  These pictures were inspired by what they have learned.

Out and about in Sixth Class

Fifth and sixth class have been working hard learning our repertoire of songs for our concert in the National Basketball Arena in April. We also had our school walk in September where we learned about trees and looked at historic monuments along the way, we found an old letterbox dating back to King Edward! Part of  our school building was built in 1889 and in maths we looked for the angles in our Victorian building. We planted yellow crocuses in the shape of the Star of David in memory of children who died during the Holocaust in World War Two. In preparation for our Dodder walk we explored water energy by making waterwheels and bridges. We explored surface tension by trying to make a needle and egg float.

Football Team

Well done to our football team. They made it to the Semi-Final and narrowly missed out on a final in Croke Park. All the girls have improved hugely over the last number of weeks and have put in fantastic performances both at matches and at training. We wish them all the best in their last few games of the season. Keep up the great work!

October in Senior Infants

The senior infants are learning lots of new things. We have learned all about spiders and most of the girls aren’t even afraid of them! They are very brave!

We also started to make some clay spiders. We had fun making them and sticking in the legs.

Keep an eye out in our classrooms for the  spiders. We still need to paint them.

We went on an autumn walk and collected some leaves. What do you think of our leaf creations!

Pretty cool! We really used our imaginations.

Hallowe’en in Junior Infants

We have had a very busy first term in Junior Infants.  The girls have been planting bulbs, onions and cabbages. We went on a lovely nature walk to Eaton Square, where we collected leaves for our nature tables. We hand-painted bonfires and we have been busy creating leaf prints.
