Autumn Walk

The three third classes went on a nature walk on Friday September 26th to Bushy Park. We saw lots of signs of Autumn including colourful leaves, acorns , conkers and other nuts and berries. We had a lovely walk through the woods and then we went to the playground .

September in 3rd Class

The girls in 3rd class have got off to a wonderful start. Everybody is well settled in now and  working very hard. We have had a busy month and the girls have produced work of a very high standard. Here are some of this month’s highlights

We drew pictures of our school in chalk pastels. We went outside to have a good look at the building first.

We painted pirates

We also made Treasure Maps. Can you find the hidden treasure?

We have written acrostic poems, diary entries and pirate stories. Click here to read a selection of our writing

School Walk

We had a lovely sunny morning for our annual school walk on Friday September 12th. Each class group set off from the school at 9.30 and walked an age appropriate distance. Some of the senior classes went to Bushy Park and Lakelands. Everybody was in great spirits and thoroughly enjoyed a welcome break from the classroom. Well done to all!

Welcome Back to a New School year

We had a very sad beginning to this school year with the death of Billy. Billy was buried on Saturday 30th August after a service in St. Joseph’s Church in  Terenure. We were very proud of our girls who walked in a solemn Guard of Honour with the cortege from our school to the Church. Our Choir sang beautifully at the service. Billy was buried in Newlands Cemetery. Our sincere sympathies go to his family and we pray that they will have the strength to cope with their great loss. We will always remember Billy with great affection in our school and of all of his hard work here will never be forgotten.

Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam Dilis.
