Bhí Seachtain na Gaeilge ar siúl sa scoil le déanaí. Bhí spóirt agus scléip againn i rith na seachtaine. Bhi ceol le cloisteáil ar an intercom gach maidin. Bhí cluichí éagsúla ar siúl i ngach rang ó Luan go hAoine mar shampla- Céard atá sa Mhála ? Cluiche Kim, Fiche Céist agus Éist agus Freagair. Ar an gCéadaoin bhí Tráth na gCéist ar siúl agus bhí Taispeántas Rince sa halla ar an Déardaoin. Bhí na rinceoirí gléasta go h-álainn agus bhí an damhsa ar fheabhas ar fad. Ag deireadh na seachtaine bhí lá ghlas againn agus bhí céilí mor ar siúl sa halla . Bhaineamar go léir taitneamh as…..Gaeilge go deo !

Rugby Mascot Pride

Ms. Tully and all the girls in First Class were beaming with pride when our very own Katie Kennedy stepped out onto the pitch on Saturday in the Aviva Stadium, alongside the Irish Rugby team captain Paul O’Connell, as one of two mascots. Katie is a huge rugby fan and was beyond excited to be picked as the team mascot for the very important match against Italy. Katie had been practising the National Anthem with her classmates and sang with pride alongside the Irish rugby team. Katie really enjoyed the experience and it was wonderful to hear ‘Presentation Primary School’ called out to so many people as she came on to the pitch. Well done Katie, we are very proud of you.

More busy times in First Class

We have had a very successful first term back in 2014. As you can see from the photos below, we have been busy doing science experiments, working out maths problems on Problem-Solving Fridays and continuing to develop our Gaelic football skills. Presentation’s Favourite Painting competition was a big hit in 1st Class. We loved learning about our own painting and artists, as well as working with 5th Class girls to create our own versions. We designed, built and tested boats while learning about sinking and floating. It was fun to watch which boats were able to carry ‘people’ and which boats needed a few ‘design adjustments’ in order to stay afloat. As the days have been getting brighter and warmer we have been out looking for signs of Spring and for our food portion plates around Terenure. We made healthy recipe cookbooks and have enjoyed learning about what size our portions really should be. Lent has begun and we are all trying hard to stick to Lenten promises.

Knitting and Crochet Club Display

The Knitting and Crochet Club display can now be viewed in the school. This year the theme is fairy tales and nursery rhymes. The main part of the display is the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe  ( along with  her many children and babies !). A big thank you to Ms. Walshe who created the impressive shoe. You can also see Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Three Blind Mice,  Mary had a Little Lamb and many other creatures and animals. Well done to all the girls who produced such an appealing and colourful display.
